1000 Friends of Florida hosts free "Water 2070" webinar Nov. 17th

One of the biggest issues facing Florida is the availability of a sufficient supply of clean water to meet the ever-increasing needs of people, agriculture and the environment. Florida’s growing population makes the historic competition between these users even more intense. Building on the recently released and updated Florida 2070, a compelling map series will show Florida’s current and projected water demand on statewide and regional levels as population increases Panelists from the University of Florida’s Geoplan Center, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and 1000 Friends of Florida will discuss the findings and strategies to reduce water demand for a more sustainable future.
