King Tide Photo Exhibit Moves to Robinson Preserve in Manatee County

SARASOTA – The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program (SBEP) and Tampa Bay Estuary Program (TBEP) have partnered to present “Chasing the Waves: King Tide Photo Exhibit.” The exhibit features photos from Florida waters and other areas in the U.S., Australia, and small Pacific Island nations, showing the global impact of rising seas.

The goal of the exhibit is to raise awareness about the effects of sea level rise on our shorelines, structures and communities. Images include winning submissions to the King Tide Photo Contest held last year by SBEP and TBEP.

The free traveling exhibit is available for viewing through February at the Valentine House located at Robinson Preserve in Bradenton. There will be a special evening showing on Friday, January 17 which will include light refreshments beginning at 5pm.

Visitors can also make reservations for the Starry Night Walk from 6:30 to 8 pm. Search the skies with naturalist Aedan from Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Department, as you look for the constellations and planets in the winter night. The event is suitable for all ages and is free to the public. Reservations are required. Please call 941-748-4501 ext. 6039.
