Cleanup at Ware's Creek this Saturday
The Historic Ware’s Creek Neighborhood Association is seeking volunteers to help clean Wares Creek Saturday, April 21, in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup.
For those interested in volunteering, register and pick up supplies at corner of Virginia Drive and Sixth Avenue West. The cleanup takes place from 9-noon. This is a good opportunity for students to earn volunteer hours; Councilman Roff will attend to sign volunteer certificates during the cleanup.
The portion of the creek that the neighborhood association “adopted” for cleanup is between Manatee and Ninth avenues west. Volunteers should bring gloves, sunscreen and a sturdy pair of shoes. Flip-flops, sandals and other open-toed shoes are not recommended. Water, snacks, garbage bags and other supplies will be provided.
