Family Fun at Manatee County Preserves

Saturday April 19, 9 - 11 am
FAMILIES FLOCK TOGETHER: RIVER QUEST
Join us as we jump right in and explore the aquatic ecosystem of the Manatee River at Rye Preserve. We will learn about the local watershed, the process of metamorphosis, aquatic predator-prey relationships, as well as organism identification. We will have a chance to wade into the shallows with a dip net so bring clothes you don't mind getting wet, water shoes, and your sense of adventure! Program suitable for ages 6 and older.

Friday April 25, 6-8 pm
FAMILIES FLOCK TOGETHER: FASCINATING FLORIDA FOSSILS

Follow in the footsteps of the giant creatures that once inhabited our state as we explore Florida's prehistoric history at Emerson Point Preserve. See fossils from these ancient creatures and learn about their ancient habitats. We will have a chance to learn how fossils are formed and where can they be found today. Program suitable for ages 6 and older.

PRESERVING THE POINT: CACHE-IN TRASH-OUT
