News Image

Hi Everyone,

We are excited to announce that it's that time of the year again - we are seeking interns to work in Manatee County's Natural Resources Department! Each year, the Department hires 2 interns to assist with volunteer opportunities, outreach events, and environmental education programs. This is a wonderful opportunity for students in undergraduate college programs to work in the field of environmental education, gaining practical hands-on experience in an informal outdoor setting. Internships are paid part-time positions and are designed to complement students' busy school schedules and to be flexible to their needs while still maintaining an active role as a Department team member.

Join our team! Manatee County Natural Resources Department Interns will work with the Department's Volunteer and Education Division team to create exciting volunteer and educational programs. Interns will:

• Work outdoors in Manatee County’s conservation lands (over 25,000 acres of natural lands!)

• Assist with volunteer workdays

• Promote environmental education and outreach at local festivals and events

• Lead tours and trips

• Conduct field research on native species

• Help with nature center exhibit design

• Develop exciting educational programs

• Design their own special interest project

• Gain career-related experience

• Have the opportunity to attend career-related training workshops

• Inspire others to help the environment!

Position hours and days are flexible, but will generally run between 8 AM and 5 PM and will include some nights and weekends (for programs).

To apply for the position please visit www.mymanatee.org Click on "I want to apply for a job" followed by "how to apply." Follow the steps to apply for the position of "Natural Resources Department Student Intern." Please be sure to fill out the application completely.
